As a freelance journalist since 1997, I write for major daily newspapers, national consumer and trade magazines, websites, custom publishers and universities. My writing specialties include green building, energy efficiency, healthy remodeling, innovative architecture, environmental issues and design. Raised in a small Midwestern town, I'm a city girl now and share my dwelling with a very sweet chocolate Lab named Holly who has an extensive vocabulary and a well-behaved black Lab with a preponderance for mail carriers who drop cards and letters through the mail slot causing them to be shredded.
